Gorgeous 8 month old pup named Maramaduke. We have 4 kids, 2 elderly Golden Retrievers and 6 chooks. Maramaduke is a barrel of energy and as he is getting bigger, we are just not finding the time to train him or spend the time he needs out doors with him. He has plenty of space to run, but as we have old dogs that are literally rugs with legs - he is like a cyclone in our home. We do love him - but have unfortunately over committed with this pup. He would suit a loving home with someone that can spend the time to train him. He is very, very smart and loves being around family. He would be suited to a family that doesn't have any pets, although - he does love other dogs - it is just that his playing is getting a bit rougher as he gets bigger. He sort of thinks he is a lap dog. He loves kids - but little kids tend to be scared of him as he tries to give kisses and can get in their faces. His 'love' can often knock them over. Our 3 year old is skittled often. He does get upset when he knocks her over. He is still in in the pup faze and chews anything. He eats EVERYTHING and doesn't have a special diet. He is toilet trained and can use a doggy door. He is an inside dog with use of a doggy door 24 hours a day. He doesn't jump fences or dig holes. He does like to run like Forrest Gump when we open the front door and he eventually comes back. He listens to my husband - me, not so much (story of my life in this house!!). He responds to the commands 'come, sit' and sometimes 'speak'. He loves arguing with my husband. He is a funny dog. He does backflips when we get visitors as he thinks they have come to see him. We do love him dearly and will miss him terribly - we just feel that we cannot give him the training that he desperately needs. He is almost up to date with his injections. Very healthy pup. Colourful poops. Everything he eats - comes straight through!!! Particularly loves Barbie doll hands and feet and any left shoes.
As we are wanting Marmaduke to go to a loving home - we do want to reserve the right to refuse adoption, if we feel he will not be going to a loving home. Pick up is from Wallan in Victoria. We will not have him transported.
