This breed of domestic dogs was developed around 1890 in Germany. The Doberman Pinscher descended from many different breeds like the Greyhound, Great Dane, Rottweiler and others. These dogs have a deep chest, which may make them top-heavy. They are known for being an athletic breed.

Doberman Pinscher Description

They are medium to large in size with a square build and a short coat. All purebred Doberman, excluding the albino coloured one, have markings on their chest, paws, muzzle, above the eyes and underneath the tail. They have long muzzle, so beware of their bite.

Doberman Pinscher Temperament

In temperament, these dogs are very obedient and are known for their agility. They can be ferocious, intimidating and aggressive if trained to be so. But they will restrain on command. This makes them excellent personal defence dogs. However, today they are seen to be more loyal, intelligent and having a balanced temperament, making them desirable at home too.
